Michael Jackson

Yesterday, Michael Jackson attended the latest pre trial hearing in the case against him to witness Santa Barbara District Attorney Tom Sneddon taking the stand to defend himself against accusations of an illegal raid. The King of Pop turned up to the courthouse with many members of his family including his parents, his brothers Jackie, Jermaine and Randy and his sisters Janet and Latoya. The siblings were dressed in all white for the appearance; Michael himself was sporting a gold armband and silver tinted glasses with his white apparel.
Inside the courtroom, Michael was to witness his attorney Tom Mesereau interrogate Sneddon on the witness stand. The DA was testifying as the Defence say the raid on private investigator Bradley Miller's office last November was conducted illegally. They argue that the evidence seized violated the confidentiality between attorney and client, as Miller worked for Michael's former attorney Mark Geragos and not Michael. Sneddon denied that he knew Miller worked for Geragos, despite Mesereau pointing out letters that were sent from Geragos to William Dickerman the Accuser's Mother attorney as well as letters from Miller to Dickerman that were seized as evidence by the Prosecution.
However, in a telephone conference between the Defence and the Prosecution last month, Sneddon stated that he knew Miller worked for Geragos before the search. He then phoned the next morning to reverse himself. Sneddon admitted this was a mistake, and he also blamed a fellow Prosecutor for wrongly suggesting within a court document that they knew Miller worked for Geragos prior to the search, stating he only became aware of this information when Geragos told him in December 2003. The exchanges between Mesereau and Sneddon were heated at times. Judge Rodney Melville had to reprimand both Mesereau and Sneddon, warning Mesereau to drop his sarcastic tone at times and he cautioned Sneddon against debating the legal propriety of every one of his adversary's questions.
